*dies laughing*

Right, so, Yuletide Fairy is the people! Multiple personages posted anonymously under this sock this year, a matter of great hilarity to me. So if you want to guess who the Yuletide Fairy is, you'll have to tell me what story she wrote for you!

I (primary sock-holder) admit to writing 3 this year; 1 story I know the author of, 1 I suspect, 1 I cannot confirm or deny any knowledge of, and 1 I have no freaking clue. Isn't it exciting?

You're not so much the primary sock holder as the most visible face of a franchise that preceded the creation of your journal and appears to be branching out. That's good. The original concept behind the Yuletide Fairy was of leaving truly anonymous gifts for the sake of giving them. Growing the concept to a whole flock/herd/murder? of anonymous Yuletide Fairies fills my heart with glee.

Somebody relabeled one of the stories I wrote this year to your handle. In the spirit of continued anonymity, I'm not saying which one. ;)

I understand that before I, giggling, nabbed a pinch-hit as Yuletide Fairy last year, the grand tradition for anonymous posting was to post under the same author name as recipient name. I suppose what I mean by referring to myself as the primary sockholder is to differentiate the practice of posting anonymously from the identity I vested with a livejournal and an email and a ridiculous amount of time in IRC. Was anon-posting indeed called fairying? I can't recall.

Mine, too! More stories == YAY! (And on a purely selfish note, I suck at keeping secrets and it's great camouflage.)

Oh--oh my! How unusual. I hope someone asked you first! (And oh, I bet I can guess. That would be the one I had no freaking clue on *G*)

That makes sense. What I meant was that some of the recipient-labeled stories were signed "The Yuletide Fairy" in the author notes after the reveal, even if they were labeled with the recipient name. Then you ran with the concept and now it's blossoming into a movement. That's awesome.

*g* Probably so.
